Students can rest, refuel and prepare for finals on Reading Day, Tuesday, April 26, 2016 with the great events below.  University Libraries will also offer activities to help students refuel for finals week. Visit for their schedule.


Sunrise Yoga

7 - 8 a.m.         RPAC B134   

Start your morning off right with Sunrise Yoga. This class will wake-up your body and mind as you move through a variety of yoga poses while focusing on the union of the breath and movement.



8 - 9 a.m.       RPAC- Track Level

Adding tabata to any workout is sure to challenge you at that next level. Tabata is a great high and low intensity training technique that includes 20 seconds of work with 10 second breaks. Add tabata to a typical TRX workout and you'll be invigorated and ready to take on your exams! Space is limited and first come, first serve. Plan to come early so you do not miss out!



8 - 10 a.m.       Ohio Union, Great Hall Meeting Room

Join OUAB and start your day on the right note by enjoying a hot breakfast, coffee and tea. Food available while supplies last!


Black Light Ride

9 - 10 a.m.       RPAC B30                

Get your glow on cycling under the black lights! A twist on our traditional indoor cycling class, this class will give you a cardio challenge unlike the rest. Whether it is an endurance climb or a series of short strength intervals, this class is guaranteed to make you break a sweat.


Tips and Tactics

9 a.m. - 4 p.m.            Ohio Union, Great Hall Credenza                    

Student Life Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) will be on hand to provide tips and strategies for addressing test anxiety. Look for CCS staff in the Union and roaming about in study areas. Let's Talk

9 a.m. - 4 p.m.       Ohio Union, Milestones Room

Drop-in informal one-on-one consultations with a CCS therapist. No appointment or paperwork necessary. Potentially gain new insight and solutions to your problems and information about other resources on campus. Have a problem? Let's Talk.


RPAC: Reading Day Rise and Shine

9:30 - 11 a.m.        RPAC Lower Main Space

Breakfast is on us! Enjoy a light breakfast at the RPAC to start your day. Food available while supplies last!


I Love the 90s Circuit Cycle

Noon - 1 p.m.         RPAC B30   

Baby, WE back! This circuit cycle format class will give you that fix of Mariah, Will Smith, and Sir Mix-a-Lot that will leave you singing all day long! Show yourself a little "TLC" by participating in this great 1 hour workout on Reading Day!


Inversion Immersion

1 - 2 p.m.     RPAC B134

Build your inversions from the ground up.  In this class, you will learn different techniques and skills to prepare your body to safely get in and out of various inverted yoga postures.  Inversions ranging from downward dog to headstand will be covered and modifications will always be given to make each pose more accessible for every student.  Bring your adventurous side and come flip your world upside down!


Pause for Paws

1 - 4 p.m.     Ohio Union, West Plaza. Rain Location: Creative Arts Room

Put a smile on your face by visiting with a friendly therapy dog!


Break with Buckeye Belle

1 - 3 p.m.     Bowen House Residence Hall

Take a study break and stop by Bowen House Residence Hall to take part in stress-relieving activities, get a snack and hangout with therapy dog Buckeye Belle!


Disney Ride

2 - 3 p.m.     RPAC B30

This class is a dream come true! Let it go and ride it out to your favorite disney songs in this 60 minute indoor cycle class. Our trained instructor will take you to a whole new world as you sprint and climb through a variety of terrain. Singing along not required, but highly encouraged. This class is first-come, first served so be sure to show up early to claim your spot! 


Reading Day Afternoon Snack

Ropes & Rowers!

3 - 4 p.m.     South Gym

Get ready for battle (or finals) with this high-intensity, sweat-fest utilizing our Battle Ropes and water rowers! You and your team will conquer a variety of strength and cardio circuits, emphasizing power and explosiveness to activate and integrate all the major muscle groups for a total body workout. You are stronger than you think you are, so get ready to make some serious waves!  


Afternoon Grind

3:30 - 5 p.m.          RPAC Lower Main Space

It's time for an afternoon pick-me-up! Stop by for coffee and tea and other assorted beverages to get you through the day.  


Beating Anxiety

4 - 5 p.m.     Ohio Union Milestones Room

Come learn and discuss the ways in which we can reduce our anxiety in terms of how to take care of our bodies, emotions and thinking habits. When you leave this seminar you should have a strong foundation on how to manage your own anxiety and what steps you need to take in order to feel better.  Want skills to help you manage test anxiety, visit for more information.


Hip Hop Yoga Flow

4 - 5 p.m.     B134

Stop, collaborate and listen...Rec Sports is back with a brand new invention: Hip Hop Yoga Flow! This vinyasa flow class set to hip-hop beats is the perfect yoga remix to re-energize your body and mind. Take a break and get ready to hip-hop-yoga-don't-stop.


Double Trouble Circuit Style

5 - 6 p.m. RPAC B30

Double the instructors, double the fun! Grab a friend and join us for this special edition circuit cycle class guaranteed to make you work twice as hard. This class is first-come, first-served so be sure to show up early to claim your spot!


Evening Break with the Student Life Multicultural Center

6 - 8 p.m.     Ohio Union, Ohio Staters' Traditions Room

Stop by to reenergize your mind, body and spirit with the Student Life Multicultural Center presenting Seoul Food - Korean street food and cultural activities!


Tag-Team TRX

6 - 7 p.m.     RPAC Track Level

Looking to challenge yourself and try something new? Come to this special edition Tag-Team TRX! You and your workout partner will alternate between strength circuits on the TRX® Suspension Trainer®, an integrated fitness training system that will test your strength and balance, and cardio drills off the TRX. We will pair you with another participant or feel free to bring a friend! 


OUABe Fit: Zumba!

6 - 7 p.m.     Ohio Union Dance Studio

This is a high energy, heart-pumping, dance inspired workout taught by a certified instructor from the Department of Recreational Sports and Student Activities.


Flicks for Free

6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.    Ohio Union, U.S. Bank Conference Theater

OUAB will be showing "Trainwreck" for this year's Reading Day. There will be a 6pm showing and an 8:30pm showing, both at The Ohio Union in the U.S. Bank Conference Theater. As the name of the event insinuates, attending the movie is FREE and OUAB also provides FREE popcorn & drinks. Please note that BuckID admits 2- so feel free to bring a friend!


Hip Hop Dance Battle

7 - 8 p.m.     South Gym

Are you ready to break it down on the dance floor?! Participants will be broken up into two teams and face off in the most epic dance battle the RPAC has ever seen! Don't worry, no dance experience is required.


Moonlight Yoga

8 - 9 p.m. RPAC B134

Relax your body and mind after a long day with Moonlight Yoga. This gentle yoga class will help you release any tension or stress as you move through the moon salutation and other restorative yoga poses. Perfect for any fitness level.
