Today's Update: High Five Friday

April 17, 2026

Dear Student Life team,

Happy High Five Friday!

High Five to everyone who participated in the recent Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement Spring Safety Walk, including OCCSE’s Chris Antjas, Lindsey Shaw, Kristen Myers, Jennifer Kephas, Cece Albon, Jacob Glorioso, Dilna Cama, Lauren Stazen, Rochelle Toth, Caitlin Marie Alvarez and Rachel DeMooy; Emma Krawiec, Jaylen Lindsey and Teri Cugliari from Risk and Emergency Management; BuckID’s Michael Rengers plus partners from Columbus and Ohio State Police Departments, Columbus Code Enforcement and Columbus City Council member Emmanual Remy. The event resulted in more than 1,000 students and community members receiving Party Smart and Move-Out information.

High Five to all of our colleagues on the regional campuses and Wooster. This week I had the opportunity to attend an event on the Lima Campus that celebrated Ohio State’s Regional Campus Commitment, which enhances affordability and accessibility for more low- to middle-income students to attain an Ohio State degree, while supporting economic development and advancing the university’s mission to serve Ohio and its communities. It was a beautiful day to celebrate all the ways regional campuses enhance the student experience at this extraordinary institution.

High Five to Hannah Warner, who was elected to join the Ohio College Personnel Association (OCPA) Board as the Assistant Treasurer. She’ll move into the Treasurer’s role next year.

Student Life’s Sorority and Fraternity Life Awards ceremony was this week, honoring people and organizations who have contributed to our vibrant Greek Life at Ohio State. High Fives to our Student Life winners, including our Suicide Prevention Program and their REACH training as Outstanding Community Partner, Sarah Geisler as Outstanding Chapter Advisor and Rochelle Toth as Outstanding Chapter Advocate.

Cat Singerman, Hall Director for Bowen House and Raney House, gets a High Five for her support of colleagues both personally and professionally. Cat has planned de-stress outings and engagement activities for her professional staff colleagues.

The Marketing team has a High Five for Dining’s Amber Morse and Kathy Grant in Traditions at Scott for helping to coordinate a lunch for them this week. High Five as well to their Marketing Specialist Debbie Wakefield for organizing the tour.

High Five to YOU if you’ve completed the Ohio State Listening Survey. If you haven’t taken the time yet, the survey closes next Friday, April 24, so you still have time!

Have a Scarlet and Great weekend, and Go Bucks, including both the Scarlet and Gray Spring Game squads!
