Today's Update: Buckeyes for Charity

September 14, 2026

Dear Student Life team,

The Buckeyes for Charity campaign kicked off today, and I hope you'll consider joining this university-wide effort to support nonprofit organizations making a difference across Ohio.

As I reflect on the campaign each year, I'm reminded how closely it aligns with our Student Life Culture Commitments of Care, Appreciation, Support and Connection. Through Buckeyes for Charity, we have the opportunity to extend those commitments beyond our campuses and into the communities we serve.

For those who may be new to Ohio State, Buckeyes for Charity is the university's annual giving campaign that connects employees with hundreds of nonprofit organizations across the state. Whether your passion is food security, health and well-being, housing, animal welfare, education or another important cause, there are many ways to support organizations whose missions resonate with you.

Participating is easy. Simply choose the cause or causes that matter most to you, make your gift and know your contribution is helping create meaningful impact. Donations can be made through credit card, check, cash or payroll deduction, and you can choose between a one-time gift or a recurring donation. I appreciate that Buckeyes for Charity allows us to direct our support where it can make the greatest difference.

Student Life will also be hosting several opportunities to connect and support the campaign throughout the fall:

  • Trivia – October 15, 4-6 p.m.

  • Cooking Class – October 16, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Chili Cookoff – October 21, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

You can find more information about these events on the Student Life intranet and watch SLICE of Student Life for additional details and registration information.

A special thank you to our Student Life campaign coordinators, Morgan Marshall and Jen Vandemark, along with our departmental ambassadors, for their leadership and support throughout this year's campaign.

The Buckeyes for Charity campaign runs through November 3. I encourage you to explore the many organizations participating and consider making a gift that reflects the causes you care about most. To learn more or make your pledge, visit buckeyesforcharity.osu.edu

Thank you for helping demonstrate the Scarlet and Great support that our Student Life team gives to the community.
