April 12, 2024

Dear Student Life team,

Happy High Five Friday and Spring Game Eve!

I really enjoyed our Scarlet and Great Gathering this week where we highlighted those Student Life team members who have reached notable years of service to Ohio State in the past year.

If you missed the program, or want to see it again, there is a recording of the Gathering livestream online. We have also heard from a few team members who may have had gaps in service or other circumstance that would have made them eligible this year, so stay tuned for the potential to celebrate even more of our team members!

In the meantime, High Fives to everyone honored:

As I mentioned at the Scarlet and Great Gathering, Student Advocacy along with Parent and Family Relations hosted the annual Student Remembrance Ceremony this week. High Fives to everyone who made this difficult but important event special, including Kim Pachell, Beth Ullum, Adam Specht, Noah Gilbert, Jenn Irwin, Lisa Pfeifer, Andy Fox, Em Manier, De’Garrica Ditmars, Courtney McCrary, Anne Driscoll, Leena Chatterjee, Matt Couch, Shivani Edwards, and Barb Urbanczyk. A special High Five goes to Erica Regan for her outstanding expression of the culture commitments of care and support for a parent in attendance.

High Fives to Student Conduct’s Cortney Brewer, Kirby Bell and Becca Hamilton for presenting at a recent half-day pre-conference session of the Association of Student Conduct Administrators. The session reviewed how to best leverage the Maxient case management system to conduct complex organization investigations.

Billy Lowe, Shawn Middleton, Matt Hope, Said Mouloua, Tina Christian, Nicole Loveless and Anitra Merritt each get High Fives for dealing with a water event (and not the fun kind!) in one of our buildings. Their fast response lessened the impact on the occupants.

High Five to John Price of our Rec Sports Esports program for his appearance on WOSU’s All Sides this week. He and student team manager Ellica Leong talked about the Big Esports Conference Championship on campus this weekend involving most of the other B1G Ten schools.

Have e a Scarlet and Great Weekend, and as always, GO BUCKS (even though they will technically be playing each other??)!
