Student well-being resources

This time of the year can be a particularly stressful one for students, so it’s important for campus community members to be prepared to refer them to the support they need. Ohio State offers a wide range of education, prevention services and direct support, depending on a student’s needs and interests. If you aren’t sure how to refer a student, email us at and we are happy to help.

Ohio State ALL IN for student voting

The Ohio State University joined 394 colleges and universities in earning the inaugural ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting recognition. This recognition acknowledges the work Ohio State has done in 2022 to institutionalize nonpartisan democratic engagement to increase student voter turnout. OSU Votes, Student Life’s student-led, non-partisan civic engagement cohort, has played a big role in making that happen. They lead workshops for students and do tabling at events to help register students to vote. For more information, visit

Help wanted to ensure accessible finals testing

At Student Life Disability Services (SLDS), providing an accessible testing experience for students during Finals Week is an imperative goal and a true team effort. This semester, we are again inviting the campus community to join in that effort. SLDS is seeking staff, faculty and graduate students to assist with seating students, monitoring and/or office administration duties from Friday, Dec. 9, through Thursday, Dec. 15. Sign up online by Wednesday, Nov. 30.

ACPA honor for Dean of Students

Dean of Students and Associate Vice President for Student Engagement and Support Dr. Danny Glassmann is an ACPA Diamond Honoree for 2023. Drs. Amy Barnes and Stephen John Quaye, from Ohio State’s College of Education and Human Ecology’s Higher Education and Student Affairs program, are also part of this year’s class. This award is one of the highest bestowed throughout the field of Student Affairs. Diamond Honorees have an outstanding and sustained commitment to higher education through student affairs and student development.

Free week at Student Life Rec Sports

Student Life Recreational Sports is hosting Free Week for Ohio State faculty and staff December 5 – 11, 2022. All facilities, including the Aquatic Center, are available for faculty and staff recreation during regular operating hours. Group fitness classes will be available on a drop-in basis. Family hours will also be available to Free Week participants Friday – Sunday. Learn more and sign up online.

Kindness Toy Drive underway

Student Life is holding a Kindness Toy Drive now through Wednesday, Dec. 14, to benefit students at United Schools Network Elementary schools in Columbus. New, unwrapped toys for ages 3-12 are requested. They are also in need of wrapping paper. Red collection bins will be located in the Senior Vice President’s suite on the 3rd floor of the Ohio Union, 600 Lincoln Tower and at the North Recreation Center. You can view their Amazon wish list online.

The Buckeyes will be bowl-bound and you can be, too. The Office of Student Life is again offering Ohio State’s Official Faculty, Staff, Student and Parent Bowl Tour. Packages will include travel, lodging and game day ticket. To receive bowl travel information as soon as it becomes available next weekend, sign up at
