Perform your own random acts, send kudos or just offer a smile that brings joy to your life and that of others by showing that you care. You can watch a video with just some of the fun during #BuckeyeLove.

Well, well, wellness

Spring break is coming up soon. If you are going away, here are some tips that will help make your time away both safe and fun:

  • Be aware of surroundings. Just because it looks like paradise, doesn’t mean it is all the time.
  • Know your limits. This can apply to so many things including sun exposure, alcohol intake and time without sleep.
  • Don’t forget the usual. Hydrate, wear sunscreen, insect repellent and hats.
  • If you are on medications don’t forget to pack and take them.
  • Remember basic first aid like band aids, aloe for sunburn and meds for the various ailments that can plague a traveler.
  • Have a great time and come back safely.

Did You Know?
Did you know that more than half of student respondents on the 2021 Student Life Survey reported they were employed? Student Life has a program called SEE, the Student Employment Experience, that helps students learn and understand skills that will help them in their careers. Student Life is hiring. Check out Handshake for current openings.

High Five
High Five to the Black Student Association for their phenomenal programming, educational efforts, collaboration and celebrations throughout United Black World Month. To see some highlights of the month, visit them on Instagram @ohiostatebsa.

SEEDs
The Student Experience and Engagement Delegates (SEEDs) program is an opportunity for students across the university to drive change, share feedback and generate ideas to help students engage, learn and thrive. Led by Dr. Danny Glassmann, Dean of Students and Associate Vice President, the program will serve as a way for the university to gather feedback and ideas from as many students as possible. SEEDs are students from any program, level, leadership experience or campus who are interested in contributing their ideas for the best Ohio State possible. Applications are now open for the 2023-2024 cohort.

Legacy
Ohio State’s Class of 2023 is being encouraged to “Leave Your Buckeye Legacy” in the form of a class gift. The first Ohio State class gift was donated over 140 years ago in 1878. The Graduating Class Gift Council, working with Student Life’s Student Philanthropy department, has chosen two highlighted funds related to their pillars of affordability, accessibility and inclusion for the Class of 2023 gift: the Margaret Herlan Busch Student Assistance Fund and the Scarlet and Gray Advantage program. You can watch a Class Gift video online. More information is online at go.osu.edu/classgift

Things to do on Campus
There is a dinosaur on campus, and you can see it at the Orton Geological Museum on the Oval. The museum features a skull of a Tyrannosaurus rex on display, along with a collection of more than 500,000 rocks, minerals and specimens. Orton Hall is more than classrooms and the chimes, so stop by this iconic building and say hi to T Rex.

OH! The Places You’ll Go
We’ve had some warmer weather but it’s still winter. If you’re looking for something to do on a cold, drab winter day, how about a movie at Gateway Film Center? You can save money by getting tickets through D-Tix, Ohio State’s discount ticket program. Gateway film tickets are just $3 each, two per BuckID for current Ohio State Columbus campus students. D-Tix has plenty of other opportunities as well, including shows, museums, concerts, sporting events and more available at an exclusive rate. Meet the Team
I’d like to introduce you to Associate Dean of Students Dr. Kristen Rupert Davis.
