Dear Student Life team,

Happy High Five Friday.

I’ll start with High Fives to all our Ohio State (nearly) new graduates. I’m proud of every one of them and know that they will do great things as Buckeye alumni.

Special High Fives go to the Student Life team members who are earning degrees on Sunday. It’s not easy balancing school, work and life, and your dedication is inspiring.

I love it when people outside of Student Life recognize the Scarlet and Greatness of our team. I have a couple examples this week.

High Five to Nabil Shehata of Student Life Facilities for being one of this year’s Distinguished Staff Award winners. Here is what the awards committee had to say, “Nabil Shehata is admired for his leadership style, which is characterized by compassion, empathy and a genuine concern for the personal and professional development of his team members. His ability to create a supportive and inclusive work culture that results in a high-performing team that delivers first-rate custodial services in support of the Recreational Sports program sets him apart as a people leader at Ohio State. He fosters an environment where individuals feel valued, supported and encouraged to excel.”

A colleague in the College of Arts and Sciences wrote to sing the praises of Financial Management’s Stephanie Fowler and Tiffany Quattlebaum. They said, “Through their dedication, Stephanie and Tiffany have cultivated an environment that is not only inclusive, supportive and welcoming but also transformative. Their tireless efforts in facilitating a nurturing atmosphere where every staff member and student feels valued and empowered underscore their remarkable impact on our community. Both Stephanie and Tiffany's impact expands beyond Student Life into the university at large. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to them for their exceptional service and dedication to enriching the lives of our staff and students.”

Hal Tedrow, Thyrone Henderson, Leanne Stearns and Jeremy Gabis get High Fives for putting together a fantastic historical overview of housing facilities at Ohio State.

High Fives to Student Life Disability Services and everyone who helped proctor nearly 2,500 final exams around campus. Jenna Sparrowe, Paul Kraemer, Julia Olejko and Kyle Kellogg get High Fives for leading the effort, and High Fives to those who gave of their time to help this monumental effort, including Tanisha Jenkins, Kellie Uhrig, Kelly Campbell, Anna Wagner, Kala Coyan-McClure, Jen Vandemark, Angie Wellman, Matt Couch, Julie Schnell, Beth Ullum, Noah Gilbert, Nicholas La Torre, Malcolm Bello, Dan Huffman, Jennifer Chilman, Taylor Koon, Kristen Hill, Julie Schultz, Nancy Thompson, Mackenzie Hogan, Mollie Workman, Monica Clagg, Maggie Wagner, Cortney Brewer, Sarah Geisler, Abby Richard, Julie Jones, Aubrie Smith, Katie Welsh, Sean Stewart, Isabel Biasella, Alex Thomas, Courtney McCrary, Debbie Wakefield, Marjorie Freggens, Julie Sanzone, Avery Ruff, Tom Reeves, Peter Hansen, Thyrone Henderson, Leanne Stearns, Tiffany Quattlebaum, Becca Ross, Rae Hofmeister, Julie Humbel-Courtney, Ben Daleiden, Chelsea Black, Ryan Lovell, D’Arcy Oaks, Chrisse Edmunds, Brandon Balandra, Wendy DeBrosse, Lacey Gosnell, Jennifer Hambach, Kristen Krug, Danny Glassmann, Kirby Bell, Akua Nelson, Jon Fritz and Kelly Smith.
