Spring Break is next week, and when you get back there will only be a few weeks left in the semester. Commencement is just around the corner! 

In the meantime, take a look at the updates and information below that I hope will help close out your semester in a Scarlet and Great way!

Secure Your Valuables  
If you are traveling for the break, be sure to secure items of value, including money, credit cards and ID’s. Record serial numbers of your devices. Lock all doors and windows. Disconnect electrical extensions. Students can obtain free safety devices for their homes, including window and door alarms as well as light timers, from Student Life’s Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement department on the third floor of the Ohio Union from 8 a.m to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. If something is missing when you return, alert the police immediately. Additional safety resources are available on the Department of Public Safety website.?

Spring Off-Campus Living Expo 
Are you looking for off-campus housing, have you already found housing but are wondering what the next steps are, or do you have all that covered but love free food, giveaways and prizes? If so, the Off-Campus Living Expo is for you! Join us Thursday, March 21, in the Performance Hall of the Ohio Union 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The Off-Campus Living Expo serves as a fun and interactive event to gather information about off-campus living and safety. This event incorporates available in-network rental properties, transportation options, fire and home safety education, student involvement opportunities and more.  More information is online.

What it Means to be a Buckeye? 
Former Buckeye and NFL great Malcolm Jenkins will be the guest of this year’s “What it Means to be a Buckeye” event on Thursday, March 21, from noon-1 p.m. in the Ohio Union’s U.S. Conference Theater. Hosted by Student Life Senior Vice President Dr. Melissa Shivers, Mr. Jenkins will discuss leadership, his recent book and answer audience questions. A book signing and photo opportunity will follow the event. Please RSVP online by Tuesday, March 12. Space is limited. This program is sponsored by the Office of Student Life and OUAB Grad/Prof.

OH! the places you’ll go  
Love science and unique ways to have fun? How about visiting COSI, Ohio’s Center of Science and Industry. You can save money by getting tickets through D-Tix, Ohio State’s discount ticket program. COSI tickets are just $12, two per BuckID per week for current Ohio State Columbus campus students. There are plenty of other opportunities as well, including shows, museums, concerts, sporting events and more available at an exclusive rate. Learn more about available D-Tix online.      

Dining with the Deans 
Our next Dining with the Deans event is Friday, March 22, from 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m. You can sign up online at go.osu.edu/diningwithdeans. This is a casual opportunity for you to join the Deans for lunch and discuss your thoughts, challenges, goals, concerns or whatever else you would like to! All students are welcome.

Well, well wellness 
The Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) offers a number of free, drop-in-when-you-are-able workshops. No registration is necessary, no prior appointment is needed.  Whether you want a crash course in tools to help manage your anxiety, support with maintaining your focus or an opportunity to practice self-care through yoga, art or writing, there is a workshop for you.There is even a workshop that explores the complex world of dating relationships in college. CCS workshops are open to all students at any stage of their educational experience.

Instagram Walls 
The Office of Student Life and the Center for Human Kindness are again hosting a contest for Ohio State students, faculty, staff, alumni and Columbus region community members to submit artwork that could be featured in outdoor spaces around campus. These Instagrammable Walls will help promote kindness, love, positivity and mental health support on campus and in the Columbus community. In addition to seeing their artwork displayed around campus, winners of the #BeKind Instagram Wall Contest will also receive $500 to donate to a non-profit organization of their choice from the Columbus Foundation’s Giving Store. The #BeKind Instagram Wall Contest is open through May 1, 2024. Learn more about the contest online.  

Graduate/Professional Student Trustee 
Ohio State’s Board of Trustees seeks a graduate or professional student who excels as a leader, is an Ohio resident and plans to attend the university through May 2026. One student will be chosen as the next student representative on the board. Faculty and staff who know of qualified candidates can encourage students to apply by Monday, March 18.
