Your Student Life: Leadership Awards

January 16, 2024

In Student Life, we are constantly striving to create opportunities for students to engage, learn and thrive. This means fostering opportunities for students to build their leadership skills in student organizations, student government, activism, community engagement, diversity equity and inclusion efforts and so much more. It is important to us that we recognize the outstanding Buckeyes who are leaders in their community year after year.

For the last 64 years, the Student Life Leadership Awards has celebrated members of the Ohio State community who demonstrate exceptional skills in leadership, activism, community engagement and more. Over the past seven decades, The Ohio State University has recognized hundreds of students, advisors and organizations who demonstrate leadership skills, collaboration and a commitment to the Ohio State community.

Any Ohio State student, faculty or staff member is eligible. You do not need to hold a formal title or leadership position in order to be recognized. Leadership Award judges focus more on learning, attitudes, action, and accomplishments than on previous awards or titles. In some cases, an award may be designed for specific students, faculty, or staff (example: Outstanding First Year, or Outstanding Advisor), but everyone should find an award that matches their talents and skill sets.

If you are interested in recognizing an outstanding Buckeye for their leadership efforts this year (and that outstanding Buckeye could be you), the 2024 Student Life Leadership Awards applications are open now until Monday, January 29.

To find out more about the application and nomination processes, you can visit go.osu.edu/LeadershipAwards. Every year we are impressed with the outstanding accomplishments of leaders across every part of our Buckeye community. Maybe this year, that could include you!
