We care about you and your well-being. The below resources are available to help you, your family, your colleagues and all Buckeyes focus on their well-being. The resources are divided into the dimensions of wellness: Creative, Career, Emotional, Environmental, Financial, Intellectual, Physical, Social and Spiritual. Within these dimensions of wellness, there are three key themes: Kindness, Community and Safety.

Across the Office of Student Life, many of our departments are working to help you focus on and improve your well-being. Some departments actively supporting this effort include Recreational Sports, the Student Wellness Center, Counseling and Consultation Service and more. Tips for families from Camp Recky

Buckeye OnPACE
OnPACE is a series of self-guided career modules that can assist you in learning more about yourself and choosing a major(s)/careers, applying to grad school, and preparing to enter the workforce as a responsible, global citizen.

Mental Health Support
Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) will be providing their offerings for students virtually and online. Drop-In Workshops will be recorded so you can access them at any time. Students do not pay a counseling fee. If you are in distress, please know we are here to help. Students may contact CCS at any time by calling 614-292-5766. If calling after hours, press 2 to be connected to a counselor.

Faculty and staff members can access mental health resources through the Office of Human Resources’ Keep Well website. The website has resources to receive individual, personalized support – either via text, telephone or online counselling. All Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services are confidential, complimentary and provided by experienced, licensed mental health professionals. EAP is available to benefits-eligible faculty and staff and their family members.

Kindness at Ohio State
Now more than ever, the world needs kindness. Even the smallest acts of kindness can make a difference, and you could inspire a chain of paying it forward. You can join in spreading kindness by visiting the Kindness at Ohio State website. Some ways you can share kindness now include:

Buckeye Peer Access Line (PAL)
Students can call a PAL to discuss their new normal, relationships, pressures to succeed and more. PAL continues to operate when classes are in session Monday-Thursday 8 p.m.- midnight and Friday 2 p.m-6 p.m. Call a PAL at 614-514-3333. More information.


Reduce, Reuse, Recipe

National Parks Tour
Get outdoors, virtually! You can "tour” the National Parks and still experience the benefits of being outside in nature. Start your tour on Google Earth.

Green Buckeyes
Green Buckeyes educates students and staff to help them make responsible, sustainable choices to meet the short- and long-term needs of our community, both within and outside of Ohio State. To provide recommendations for building systems, waste removal and other functions to support energy conservation and sustainability, and to measure success of efforts both quantitatively and qualitatively.

Chadwick Arboretum and Learning Gardens

Personal Finance Video Series 
The Student Wellness Center is making personal finance engaging and useful for people of all ages! This course provides you with the basics of personal finance, including topics like budgeting and savings planning, and more technical aspects of student loans and credit scores. Dennis Learning Center  

The Dennis Learning Center offers tips to succeed in an online learning environment. View resources on succeeding in an online class, overcoming procrastination, test-taking more on their website.

The Writing Center  

The Writing Center offers free help with writing at any stage of the writing process for any member of the university community. During sessions, consultants can work with you on anything from research papers to lab reports, from dissertations to résumés, from proposals to application materials.

Mathematics and Statistics Learning Center  

The mathematics and statistics learning center offers workshops that will summarize and synthesize some of the most difficult or most important concepts in your course.  These workshops are highly interactive experiences. You will be asked to solve problems before seeing the solutions. Workshops can be downloaded and viewed using the Articulate Mobile App.


Recreational Sports
Living a life in motion is crucial to your health and well-being. There are many benefits associated with exercise and physical activity – including boosting your immune system, improving mental health and reduction of stress, anxiety and depression. Translate your habit of going to the gym into different, outdoor venues and at home activities while socially distancing and following local guidelines. It has never been more important to focus on your holistic well-being.

SMART Lab Mindfulness and Mediation Videos
Deep breathing exercises can have a profound effect on your level of stress. These modules are designed to introduce the philosophy of mindfulness through excerpts from Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book “Wherever You Go, There You Are” and provide you with practical deep breathing exercises to use when you feel stressed.
