Dear Buckeye,

Spring has finally “sprung,” which means we’re also nearing the end of another academic year. It's truly hard to believe how quickly the year has gone by. For those of you coming up on your last finals as an undergrad or those of you completing master’s programs, defending dissertations or wrapping up professional programs, congrats and hang in there! For those of you gearing up for an internship, co-op, job, classes, research, service, travel or any number of other exciting summer experiences, you’re almost there! I would love to hear from you about how you will spend your warm weather months. In the meantime, take a look at the updates and information below that I hope will help close out your semester in a Scarlet and Great way!

Health and safety updates
Ohio State has introduced a new Community Crime Map to replace off-campus Neighborhood Safety Notices. The new map consists of statistics from the Columbus Division of Police (CPD) and shows off-campus crime reports. Users can also set up customized email alerts. Stay informed of crime reports in your neighborhood by visiting the Community Crime Map. For more information, visit go.osu.edu/crimemap.

Next week is Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week (April 4-8). From research and generating academic insights to teaching, clinical work and serving in important assistantships, graduate and professional students make countless contributions to the Ohio State community. Please join me in acknowledging the ways they contribute to Ohio State.

Well..well...wellness
Have you ever just wanted to talk with someone who “Just gets it”? Consider a Let’s Talk drop-in, informal mental health consultation. You may select the first available time slot or choose to speak with a counselor from a diverse list of staff at Counseling and Consultation Service. It’s FREE and it's a great option for students who may not needtraditional counseling, but who could benefit from one-on-one support and consultation.

Did you know?
If you are a big supporter of sustainability, you’re in good company! In last fall’s Wellness Assessment, 91% of students reported that they feel it is important to conserve natural resources. To learn more and celebrate Earth Month, take part in Time for Change week, April 4-10.

Ramadan
Ramadan is an occasion to focus on faith through fasting and prayer and is one of the most important Muslim holidays. During these 30 days, Muslims refrain from food and beverages during daylight hours. This year Ramadan begins on April 2 and will coincide with final exams. If needed, please speak with instructors about religious accommodations.

Meet the team
Let me introduce you to Ryan Lovell, Student Life’s Associate Dean of Students and Senior Director, Parent and Family Relations. He provides leadership and oversight of Parent and Family Relations, Sorority and Fraternity Life, Student Advocacy and Student Conduct. You can also sign up for Dining with the Deans to join Ryan, Dean Danny Glassmann and Associate Dean Matt Couch for a causal lunch.

I hope your March continues to be Scarlet and Great – O-H!
