D'Andra Mull, PhD

D'Andra, in her role as Associate Vice President, serves on the executive leadership team for the Office of Student Life. As Dean of Students, she extends Student Life's direct leadership, engagement and support of the comprehensive student experience outside the classroom. Her focus and areas of expertise include student support and development, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and graduate programming. D'Andra also serves on the graduate faculty as an adjunct assistant professor in the School of Educational Policy and Leadership's Higher Education and Student Affairs Program. She holds a BA in political science and criminal justice studies from Kent State University, an MA in higher, adult and lifelong education from Michigan State University, and a PhD in higher education from Ohio State. D'Andra has held student life positions at Kent State, Michigan State, and since 2004, at Ohio State.

Matt Couch, PhD

Matt oversees student involvement initiatives, including student organizations, support for student governments, events and activities, leadership and service programs, and Student Life's portion of new student orientation. He works to analyze the co-curricular student experience and make recommendations, create strategies and implement initiatives for student engagement that promote student development and leadership. Matt earned bachelor's degrees in psychology and linguistics from the College of William & Mary and both an MA and a PhD in higher education and student affairs from Ohio State. He has worked in Student Life at Ohio State since 1997.

Ryan W. Lovell

As director of programming in the university's Office of Parent and Family Relations, Ryan assists in coordinating programs, services, and communications specifically for parents and families of Ohio State students. These include the annual Parent and Family Weekend in the fall and Sibs and Kids Weekend in the spring, and a regular e-mail message with campus updates, important deadlines, and other pertinent information. He also oversees alumni society relations for a number of Student Life departments. Ryan earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry and biology from West Chester University, and his master's degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University. He has been at Ohio State since 2007, and previously held student life positions at Hartwick College and Lehigh University.

Cheryl Lyons

Cheryl Lyons and the Student Life Disability Services team collaborate with and empower students with disabilities and serve as consulting resources for university faculty and staff. Their office coordinates the support services and programs that enable equal access to an education and university life for over 3,000 registered students. SLDS services include Access Specialists, Exam Services, Interpreters, Transcribers, a Braillist and Accessible Media Services.

Cheryl has served the Office of Student Life as a Student Affairs Generalist and Director within University Housing since 1997. She holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a MS in College Student Personnel Services from Miami University. Before coming to Ohio State, Cheryl served as Coordinator of Student Development at California Polytechnic State University.



Blake Marble

Blake provides leadership for Student Life's Student Wellness Center by working with students, staff, faculty and community partners to create a campus environment that supports and promotes student success and well-being. This entails assessing the holistic needs of students and developing policies, programs and services that aid them in reaching their goals. He received his BS in Exercise Science and MEd in Administration of Higher Education, both from Auburn University. Blake joined the Student Life Student Wellness Center in July of 2013.

Kimberly Pachell

Kimberly has been with the Student Advocacy Center since the office opened in 1995. Prior to serving in this role, she worked for several years in the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences as the Assistant to the Dean and brought with her a great deal of institutional history and knowledge. She has served on a variety of committees, many of which have focused on improving the student experience. Kimberly has made a career out of serving Buckeyes and helping them to reach their goal of graduating from Ohio State. Kimberly earned her BA from Ohio State in Psychology with a Counseling Specialization. She came here from northeastern Ohio as a student and never left... she bleeds Scarlet and Gray! Go Bucks!



Kim Monteaux De Freitas, EdD

Kim leads the sorority and fraternity life team, providing strategic leadership to the day to day operations of the Ohio State sorority and fraternity community. She received her BFA from Northern Michigan University, an MSEd in College Student Development and Administration from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and an EdD in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Vermont. Kim joined Ohio State in November 2017 after 11 years at the University of Vermont.


Chris Rideout, PhD

Chris oversees and administers Career Counseling and Support Services, which promotes academic, personal and occupational success by assisting students in career decision-making and career development. She also provides counseling and clinical supervision and training at the Counseling and Consultation Service. She holds a BA in psychology and a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Florida and a PhD in counseling psychology from Michigan State University. She has been in Student Life at Ohio State since 1985. Prior to that, she worked at Ohio Wesleyan University in the Counseling, Advising and Placement Center and taught in the Psychology Department.

Kelly B. Smith

Kelly leads Student Life Student Conduct, which is responsible for the university-wide administration of the Code of Student Conduct. The department upholds the university community’s standards and establishes students’ accountability for their choices through an equitable and inclusive process.

Between earning a BA in History (1991) and an MA in Higher Education (2003) from Ohio University, Kelly received her JD from Ohio State’s Moritz College of Law. She practiced law in Columbus for four years. She has been at the university since 2003 and joined the Student Life Student Conduct staff in 2012.

Todd Suddeth, PhD

Todd provides administrative leadership for Student Life’s Multicultural Center, including assessment of student needs and developing policies, objectives, programs and opportunities to serve them. Previously, he served as the Program Director of the Todd A. Bell National Resource Center on the African American Male at Ohio State. His research interests include career development with a specific focus on the influence of aspiration and possible selves on career decision-making and the successful transition of students from high school to college.

Todd received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Akron, an MA in Public Affairs and a PhD in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Ohio State.

Nancy Thompson

Nancy provides strategic leadership for Buckeye Careers, a program that offers career development assistance, support and resources for all Ohio State students. Nancy joined Student Life in 2014, bringing 20 years of experience from prior positions at JPMorgan Chase, Bank One and Gap Inc. Direct.  She has spent majority of her career in the employee development space working in various training and development leadership roles in Technology, HR, Finance, and Operations. Nancy earned her business administration degree from Ohio University.
