Aliya Beavers, PhD

Dr. Beavers (she/her/hers) came to Ohio State in the autumn of 2022 from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in Houston, Texas where she served as

the Director of Student Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Previously, Dr. Beavers led Greek Life and multicultural student recruitment and retention programs at Michigan State University and DePauw University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Black World Studies from Miami University, Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University and Doctor of Philosophy in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University.

As Director of the Center for Belonging and Social Change, Dr. Beavers serves as a visionary, inclusive, innovative and process-oriented leader, envisioning a center that fosters a sense of belonging and inclusion while promoting outreach and social change.
