Exams
Success on finals is within your grasp. Here are a few tips from Counseling and Consultation Service:
-
Take care of yourself by prioritizing sleep and nutrition, stay active and manage stress.
-
Write out your exam and study schedule, study, attend review sessions and arrive early for exams.
-
Connect with peers to form study groups.
-
Check in with family and friends to let them know how you’re doing.
If you need a little extra support, schedule a Let’s Talk session with a counselor. Find this service and more at go.osu.edu/talktoacounselor.
Reading Day
You can rest, refuel and prepare for finals on Reading Day, Thursday, December 5. Student Life departments and campus partners will be offering fitness classes, snack breaks, movies and more across campus. See the full list of activities and events online at go.osu.edu/readingday.
Safety Tip
Before you travel for break, be sure to take items of value home, including money, credit cards and IDs. Record serial numbers of your devices. Lock all doors and windows. You can obtain free safety devices for your off-campus homes, including window and door alarms, through Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement on the third floor of the Ohio Union. Disconnect electrical extensions. If something is missing when you return, alert the police immediately. More safety resources and information are available online.
Bowl Tour
The Buckeyes are gearing up for potential post-season play and you could be, too! The Office of Student Life will again offer travel packages for students, faculty, staff and families to cheer on the Buckeyes in post-season play. Sign up on the bowl tour website to receive information as soon as it becomes available.
Graduation Survey
The Ohio State Graduation Survey will open on Wednesday, November 20, and remain open through Monday, December 16. The survey, administered by the Center for the Study of Student Life, asks fall 2024 graduates about their time at Ohio State. The valuable feedback will help enhance the student experience for future Buckeyes. For more information, please visit go.osu.edu/grad-survey. Contact cssl@osu.edu with any questions.
Food Trucks
Student Life Dining Services will have four food trucks operating during finals week. Pitabilities, Dos Hermanos, Yats Cajun Cuisine and Barrio Tacos will be on campus on Friday, December 6, and Monday through Wednesday, December 9-11, from 7 p.m.-midnight each day. There will be two locations, North Clock Tower and W. 12th Avenue in front of Bradley Hall. Double check the Grubhub App each day for which trucks will be in each location.
OH! The Places You’ll Go
Looking for a way to have fun this chilly winter? How about visiting Scene 75, the Largest Indoor Entertainment Center in Columbus. You can save money by getting gift cards through D-Tix, Ohio State’s discount ticket program. Scene 75 gift cards are just $10 each, but worth $20. You can get two per BuckID per week for current Ohio State Columbus campus students. There are plenty of other opportunities as well, including shows, museums, concerts, sporting events and more available at an exclusive rate. Find out more online.
Meet the Team
I’d like to introduce you to Andre Love, the Director of Recreational Sports. Meet Andre by reading his online bio.
All my very best to you for a successful end to the semester and a safe, happy and rejuvenating winter break.
