Dear Student Life team, 

The Buckeyes for Charity 2024 campaign is underway. You may have seen the email from President Carter earlier this afternoon kicking off the drive.  

As I reflect on this, I realized how perfectly Buckeyes for Charity compliments and fits within our Student Life Culture Commitments: Care, Appreciation, Support and Connection. 

By way of background for those who may be new to the university, Buckeyes for Charity is an annual Ohio State campaign that gives you the opportunity to support causes, organizations and efforts that are important to you. Causes include food security, health and wellness programming and services, housing, animal welfare, education, advocacy programs, social justice and the environment.  

You pick the recipient(s) from an online list, make a donation, and know that your dollars are going directly to a worthy cause near and dear to you.  

In past years, I have used the campaign to donate to several organizations because I believe in what they do. I’m sure you will find an organization that speaks to you in the same meaningful way.   

Our Culture Commitments align directly with Buckeyes for Charity. Donating Supports non-profits in our community, Connects us to those groups doing good work and shows Appreciation for all they do and Cares for our fellow Ohioans.  

It’s an easy process to give. You can donate via credit card, check, cash or payroll deduction. You can also choose whether to make your gift a recurring donation or a one-time contribution.  

There are also some fun Student Life events coming up with more ways to be a part of this effort. There will be a cooking class on October 10 and a Chili Cookoff on October 17. Watch SLICE for details and how to register.  

Our campaign coordinators in Student Life are D’Arcy Oaks, Morgan Hammonds and Jen Vandemark. They’re busy planning these events and more.
