Happy High Five Friday!
Wednesday was World Suicide Prevention Day, and hopefully you saw messages of hope and support all over campus. High Five to Suicide Prevention Program leader Laura Lewis and everyone who helped on this important day to build a culture of care at Ohio State; Sarah Blouch, Keith Palma, Nicole Thomas, Erina Harrison, Les Shigley, Nick Violet, An-Mei Cheng, Cadee Lee, Emili Lazova, Tyrell Miller-Johnson, Heidi Aune, Joby Buffone, Selina Zhang, Logan Tyzzer, Anthony Brantley, Shea Finger, Kimberly Chua, Elizabeth Hurst, Anna Axelson, Brianne Beronilla, Luis Anastacio, William Rose, Kendall Cribbs, Zoe Newman, Laura Onianwa, Luchen Tang, Anna Lowe, Stephanie Grissett, Lilly Buchholz, Daniela Burnworth, Tomas Guzman, Sarah Geisler, Stella Feeney, Jennifer Lang, Haiya Patel, Matt Burgdorf, Viktoria Bedalli, Bridget Hildreth, Troy Keller, everyone who helped with the design and display of clings and stickers, the Psychology Department’s Alisa Paulsen and the many students there who wrote the notes of encouragement that were distributed all over campus, Tom Holman and Tim Smith for the CABS bus messages, Abby Hertzfeld and all the people in Dining Services who put stickers on cups and items in all the delivery Rovers.

High Five to Student Conduct’s Lacey Gosnell for diligent and creative work converting a new educational opportunity, created by our Student Wellness Colleagues and Kirby Bell, for students with low level cannabis violations into a BuckeyeLearn module. Having this education available on BuckeyeLearn allows us to serve more students, including those on our regional campuses.
Conduct’s Brett Welsh also gets a High Five for revising the online Anti-Hazing training required of all students. Initial feedback from students taking the training this summer was very positive.
Another High Five for a Student Conduct team member: Nicholas La Torre, for a timely message about ticket scams. It’s posted on the Conduct blog.
Ryan Patel of Counseling and Consultation Service gets a High Five for co-authoring a new published study that found an association between at least 10 weeks of following a well-formulated ketogenic diet and a roughly 70% decrease in depression symptoms among a small group of college students.
High Fives to our Distinguished Staff Award winners in Student Life, Dilna Cama and Beth Ullum. They will be honored at tomorrow night’s football game against Ohio University.
