November 1, 2024

Dear Student Life team,

Happy High Five Friday.

Homecoming was so much fun last weekend, and High Fives to everyone who made the events special. From the Parade to the 25th anniversary Mount Leadership Society celebration to the Ohio State Homecoming Courts, it was wonderful to experience all that Buckeye Spirit among our current students, alumni, fans, families and friends.

Student Life Disability Services was one of the many groups in the Homecoming Parade, and I had such a fun time joining them. They wanted to be sure Dylan Delay, Sam Dible and Holly Heffernan get High Fives for decorating their trolley. They are also Scarlet and Grateful to Daren Lehman and Annie Maxwell “for so patiently answering all my Homecoming planning questions,” as well as to Tracy Stuck for all of her help.

After an outstanding Parade on Friday, Saturday’s festivities were exciting, and I was proud to help celebrate our own student employee, Madison Mason, as she was crowned as one of Ohio State’s Homecoming Royalty. High Five, Madison!

High Five to the Student Health Services pharmacy team who gave out an amazing 340 flu vaccines on Wednesday during their Say Boo to the Flu clinics.

Disability Services has a High Five for to Mark Arthur for his quick response in assisting with troubleshooting a software issue and ensuring access continuity.

High Five to Donna Hight of Ohio State Mansfield for being the feature of a Student Success Champion Profile in a special First-Generation Day special edition. National First-Generation College Celebration Day is a week from today on Nov. 8, so an early High Five to all our first-gen students and team members. The schedule of first-gen events across all our campuses is online.

The Center for the Study of Student Life’s Tori Rehr gets a High Five for presenting at the Assessment Institute in Indianapolis. Tori was invited to contribute to a keynote panel on the Student Success Landscape: A Conversation and Call to Action because of her leadership and role as Chair of ACPA’s Commission for Assessment and Evaluation and her expertise in higher education and assessment.

High Five to you if you contributed to this year’s Buckeyes for Charity campaign. You still have time to participate but the deadline is today.

Have a Scarlet and Great weekend, and naturally, Go Bucks!
