January 17, 2025

Dear Student Life team,

Happy High Five (and Scarlet and Gray!) Friday!

High Fives to everyone who attended this week’s Scarlet and Great Gathering, as well as to Morgan Hammonds, Aubrie Smith and everyone who helped plan such a special event. Of course, I also want to shout out all of our honorees for their years of service to Ohio State and Student Life. I am so proud of our whole team not only for years of effort, but especially for the heart and dedication you bring to the amazing work you do. If you missed the ceremony, want to watch it again or share it with your loved ones, you can see a video of the Gathering online.

Chris Antjas gets a High Five for keeping Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement’s operational information and data at his fingertips. He is incredibly helpful in answering quick questions from colleagues.

High Five to Counseling and Consultation Services’ (CCS) Harry Warner for being elected president of the Association for University and College Counseling Center Outreach (AUCCCO). The programs at CCS, including drop-in workshops and Let’s Talk, are second to none, and the election is a testament to Harry’s work here and as a national leader.

Speaking of CCS, High Five to I-Shan Yang for being selected for the 2025 Diversity Scholars Program through the Association for the Coordination of Counseling Center Clinical Services.

Even more national recognition for our amazing staff—High Five to Tori Rehr in the Center for the Study of Student Life for her recent award from one of our national Student Affairs professional associations, ACPA. Tori was honored with the Distinguished Commission Chair designation. Tori received this award for her work chairing ACPA’s Commission for Assessment and Evaluation.

High Fives to Kristen Hill, Nancy Thompson and the Buckeye Careers team for a very successful Career Closet pop-up event this week. More than 300 students attended to get free clothing and accessories for jobs, internships or interviews.

Chrisse Edmunds earns a High Five for recently receiving a fabulous shout out from a student employee on LinkedIn. The student employee wrote “A special thank you to Chrisse Edmunds for being such an incredible mentor and guide.” And High Five to the entire Center for the Study of Student Life (CSSL) team. The student employee noted “I’m truly grateful to be surrounded by such a talented and welcoming group of analysts. I’ve learned new skills from everyone at CSSL, and the inclusive and cooperative atmosphere has only made the experience more fulfilling.”

Have a Scarlet and Great weekend, and let’s all say it together, GO BUCKS!
