February 3, 2023
Dear Student Life team,
Happy High Five Friday.
I’ll start with a High Five to Dr. Julie Schultz who is wrapping up her first week as Program Director for the Second-year Transformational Experience Program (STEP) and Strategic Student Initiatives. She provides leadership for STEP, the Scarlet and Gray Advantage Learning Community and other strategic student initiatives.
High Five to Aisha Echols, who gave up part of her Friday evening last week to make sure students would receive an urgent and timely message.
Lizzy Ehren gets a High Five for leading the effort to rejuvenate the idea of a class gift. As you saw in Slice this morning, they’ve identified two highlighted funds for the Class of 2023 gift: the Margaret Herlan Busch Student Assistance Fund and the Scarlet and Gray Advantage program.
High Five to Seneca Crump of the Center for Belonging and Social Change for coordinating and facilitating a comprehensive and impactful retreat for our newly revitalized Ujima Leadership Network. Seneca has worked hard to bring leaders of various Black student organizations together to build community and provide programming and opportunities to their fellow students.
Dr. Hunter Sully of Counseling and Consultation Service gets a High Five for being selected as a Diversity Scholar for the Association for the Coordination of Counseling Center Clinical Services. This is a very selective, prestigious honor and is geared wards inspiring future clinical directors in counseling centers.
High Five to Caity McCandless (Student Life Disability Services - Columbus) and Stephanie Rowland (Disability Services – Ohio State Newark) for presenting “College Life: Navigating the experience with a disability” at the recent Focusing on the First Year Conference.
Stay warm and have a Scarlet and Great weekend!
