Dear Student Life team,
Happy High Five Friday!
Student Life’s Suicide Prevention Program put on a beautiful and moving Survivors of Suicide Loss Luminary program recently. High Fives to leader Laura Lewis and everyone who made the event possible, including Mia Castro, Braeden Fedders, Ana Ramirez, Ava Adams, Elena Mumaw, Hinal Patel, Abby Morgan, Mia Kaufman, Grace Rosales, Maddie Nester, Ava Lewis, Madison McAfee, Anderson Ogle, Tia Maly, Hannah Proctor, Lucy Faherty, Jacks Hopkins, Shea Finger, Will Rose, Amaya Rakes, Viktoria Bedalli, Laura Onianwa, Cadee Lee, Cassidy Hall, Selin Boztepe, Joby Buffone, Mehalya Girma, Isabella Ruiz, Isabella Albanese and Katelyn Trotto.
High Five to Lindsey Shaw of Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement for using her many connections to locate a student whose car was recently broken into. Lindsey was even able to help return some of the stolen belongings. A colleague says, “The student was incredibly happy and we are certainly grateful for Lindsey’s care and compassion!”
Robin Bolterman of Student Life Technology Services gets a High Five for her fast and efficient support to resolve an issue in Dining Services. They tell me, “Her responsiveness, preparedness and calm approach made all the difference, and I’m grateful for the level of care she brings to her work.”
There were some facilities issues over the Thanksgiving weekend, and several team members worked late or came in over the break to help. High Fives to Troy Keller, Josh Karnap, Nick Davis, Michael Quinn, Kaleigh Hug, Matt Wells, Adam Cutright, Kirk Winters, Paul Matlow. Ralph Cottrill and Jason Scherer.
High Five to Tiffany Quattlebaum for, as a colleague and student organization advisor put it, “always being able to simplify and figure out financial processes that seem overly complicated.”
If you haven’t been past Mirror Lake in the evening, make it a point to stop by soon and see the fantastic Light Up the Lake display. High Fives to all the Ohio Staters Inc. advisors and to the student co-chairs, Blair Banker, Bianca Sofariu, Sophie Ranz and Khushi Pabboju.
High Five to Bob Clift for helping a student make her way across the snow-covered campus early Tuesday morning.
The snow led to another group of High Fives—a team member let me know she saw several members of the Housekeeping staff using shovels to help clear sidewalks around North Rec, the dining facilities and residence halls in the North District. Her note to me said, “Big High Five to them for seeing the need and working together to make a big impact today! Their efforts were much appreciated.”
Finally, I want to give Brutus Buckeye a High Five for being the world’s greatest, and most imaginative, mascot. If you saw Saturday’s game, you know what I mean!
Have a Scarlet and Great weekend, and a B1G GO BUCKS!
