April 4, 2025

Dear Student Life team,

Happy High Five Friday.

High Five to several members of the Center for the Study of Student Life team, Leah Halper, Erica Szeyller, Marjorie Freggens, Chrisse Edmunds and Erica Regan, on a recent publication titled “Data-Driven Approaches to Reduce Survey Fatigue and Enhance Student Engagement in Surveys” published in the journal Intersection: A Journal at the Intersection of Assessment and Learning. While that title may sound complicated, it truly speaks to the talent and expertise we have in the Center for the Study of Student Life that benefits all of us.

Dining’s Chef Lesa Holford and Phil Amerine get High Fives for presenting at the NACUFS (National Association of College and University Food Services) Spring Conference in Albuquerque, NM, this week. Their presentation on how to develop a year-over-year cost savings plan provided timely knowledge for other universities facing the financial challenges of rising food costs.

High Five to Housing Coordinator Ethan Harvill, a recent Staff in the Spotlight winner from the University Staff Advisory Committee. Ethan's nominator praised him for being “personable, a hard worker and committed to making positive changes within his department. Ethan consistently comes up with innovative ideas to improve the student experience...Ethan's thoughtful approach and clear communication make a positive difference.”

One last High Five to Jeff Pelletier for being a mastermind at troubleshooting in a variety of ways this week. Much appreciated, Jeff!

Have a Scarlet and Great weekend. And while you do, be sure to Go Bucks!
