First-Generation College Celebration Day 2024

October 29, 2024

First-Generation College Celebration Day is Friday, November 8, 2024. The day is an annual opportunity to raise awareness of the first-generation college student identity by advancing a national narrative of these students’ experiences and outcomes.

The First Gen Forward Coalition at Ohio State, led by the offices of Student Life, Diversity and Inclusion and Student Academic Success, invites all Buckeyes to participate in celebrating the unique experiences of members of the Ohio State community who Identify as First-Generation.

On November 8, stop by the Center for Belonging and Social Change, Hale Hall or the Student Academic Services Building Lobby to be pick up First-Gen swag and treats between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Then head to the South Oval at 1:15 p.m. for a First-Gen celebratory photo.  (Rain location: Ohio Union, Keith B. Key Center)

Post on social media using the hashtags #CelebrateFirstGen, #OhioStateFirstGenForward, #FirstGenAdvocate.  Posts might include your first-gen students and staff, how you support first-gen initiatives, your celebration events and your own first-gen stories.
