Career Coaching
If you have a quick, career-related question or are seeking some additional feedback on your resume, sign up to attend a virtual drop-in appointment with career counselors through Buckeye Commons. These 15-minute virtual appointments, Monday/Tuesday 3-4 p.m. and Wednesday/Thursday 9-10 a.m., are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is in Handshake and opens 24 hours before each session. More information on the sessions is online.

Doc’s Download
What can Ted Lasso and The Bear teach us about empathy, resilience and leading with heart? In the latest episode of Doc’s Download, The Podcast Edition, my guests and I explore leadership lessons inspired by these binge-worthy shows. From navigating failure to building trust, and why kindness and authenticity matter now more than ever, this conversation blends pop culture with practical wisdom for anyone looking to lead with purpose. Listen to this and other episodes of Doc’s Download: The Podcast Edition at go.osu.edu/docspodcast or watch at go.osu.edu/docsyoutube

Let’s Talk
Do you have a specific concern you'd like to talk through with a counselor, even if you’re not seeking regular therapy? Let’s Talk offers free, informal and confidential virtual sessions with a counselor—available weekdays on a first-come, first-served basis. It’s a convenient way to get support, even while traveling. If you need to speak with someone outside regular hours, the Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) provides a 24/7 support line. Just call 614-292-5766 and select option 2. Support is always available when you need it.

OH! The Places You’ll Go
With a student budget in mind, Ohio State’s Discount Ticket Program (D-Tix) offers tickets to Columbus-area shows, museums, concerts, sporting events and more at an exclusive rate. Our spotlight ticket this month is to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Discounted tickets are $13, available two per BuckID per week. They don’t expire until January 1, so you can use them for their amazing Wildlights display in the winter. You can get to the zoo by riding COTA. Visit the D-Tix website: https://activities.osu.edu/programs/dtix

Safety Tip
Before you travel for break, be sure to take items of value home, including money, credit cards and IDs. Record serial numbers of your devices. Disconnect electrical extensions. Lock all doors and windows. You can obtain free safety devices for your off-campus homes, including window and door alarms, through Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement on the third floor of the Ohio Union.  If something is missing when you return, alert the police immediately. More safety resources and information are available online.

#SpotlightonStudentLife
I’ve started a new feature on my Instagram account, #SpotlightonStudentLife, where I focus on a team, department, resource or service offered by Student Life. One of the latest: BuckeyeThon. Be sure to follow me @scarletandgrayslvp for more.
