Student well-being resources
This time of the year can be a particularly stressful one, so I want to remind you that Ohio State offers a wide range of education, prevention services and direct support, depending on your needs and interests. Remember, it’s okay to not be okay and to ask for help. It’s also okay to offer support to others who you may see struggling. The Ohio State community is a caring community, so let’s all do our part and REACH out for ourselves and for others.
Join us at the Fall Sizzle
Get fired up for the end of the semester at the Fall Sizzle! Take a study break and enjoy all your favorite breakfast items, hot off the griddle, and served up by some of your campus favorites. Sizzle is Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 7:30-9 p.m. in the Ohio Union Performance Hall.
Kindness Toy Drive
Student Life is holding a Kindness Toy Drive now through Wednesday, Dec. 14, to benefit students at United Schools Network Elementary schools in Columbus. New, unwrapped toys for ages 3-12 are requested. They are also in need of wrapping paper. Red collection bins will be located in the Senior Vice President’s suite on the 3rd floor of the Ohio Union, 600 Lincoln Tower and at the North Recreation Center. You can view their Amazon wish list online.
Free New York Times from USG
The Ohio State University’s Undergraduate Student Government is offering all students, faculty and staff FREE access to the New York Times for one year. Learn more and activate your subscription at go.osu.edu/usgnyt. Search for and select “Ohio State University-Columbus, OH” and log in using your Ohio State credentials. Create an account and register, sign-up and enjoy access to New York Times journalism and games content. For more information, email contactusg@osu.edu.
Well, Well Wellness...
It’s not too late to get your flu shot. Schedule an appointment to get your vaccination with the Student Health Services Pharmacy team via My BuckMD, or ask your medical provider during any scheduled appointment.
OH! The places you'll go
One of the best holiday lights displays in Central Ohio is Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. You can get discounted tickets for just $9, available two per BuckID, and they don’t expire until January 1, 2023. You can also get to the zoo free by using your BuckID to ride COTA (Central Ohio Transit Authority).
With a student budget in mind, Ohio State’s Discount Ticket Program (D-Tix) offers tickets to Columbus-area shows, museums, concerts, sporting events and more at an exclusive rate.
Bowl Tour
The Buckeyes will be bowl-bound and you can be, too. The Office of Student Life is again offering Ohio State’s Official Faculty, Staff, Student and Parent Bowl Tour. Packages will include travel, lodging and game day ticket. To receive bowl travel information as soon as it becomes available, sign up at go.osu.edu/bowltour.
Meet the Team
I’d like to introduce you to Student Life Technology Services Director John Link. John and his time oversee all things technology for Student Life. Meet John.
I hope you have a safe, healthy and relaxing end to 2022 – O-H!
