Carry Naloxone. Save a Life!
The "Carry Naloxone. Save a Life" training from the Student Life Student Wellness Center provides information on how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, administer the opioid overdose reversal drug, Naloxone, and educate the importance of harm reduction and its concepts. Participants will leave with a Naloxone kit and Fentanyl test strips at no cost. Training dates are available for this semester. You can register for Naloxone Training online.
OH! the places you’ll go: TEDxOhioStateUniversity
Looking for a way to be inspired, learn AND have fun? Consider attending TEDxOhioStateUniversity, hosted by one of Ohio State’s extraordinary student organizations. Tickets are on sale now, so check out the details at the TEDx website.
Safety Tip: CABS On-Demand
The free CABS On-Demand provides daytime transportation between areas west of Olentangy River and six campus bus stops: RPAC, Stillman Hall, Mid Towers, Doan Hall, University Square and Gateway. (There is no service from University Square and Gateway to Stillman, RPAC and Mid-Towers.) After 9 p.m., the service provides transportation between campus buildings. You can download the “TripShot” app for scheduling and real-time tracking. You can hear a podcast on this topic and more safety information online. Look for Season 2, Episode 9.
Did You Know?
Student Life Rec Sports has a new app. You can download it for easier access to facilities, programs and services. View your member profile, register for group fitness classes, purchase your Intramurals Play Pass and more. Be sure to enable push notifications to receive important Rec Sports reminders and updates in real time. You can download the app from the App Store, Google Play or find it by searching “OSU Rec Sports.”
Well, Well Wellness
Many times when we think about health and well-being, it’s natural to think about our own current state. However, in these challenging times, it’s also important to consider how you can support others, even when your views are different. For tips on how to show support to friends in the face of divisive events, check out this resource.
Code of Student Conduct Changes
Changes to the Code of Student Conduct went into effect with the new year, as approved by the Ohio State Board of Trustees. These changes include additions to policies, as well as further clarification on previous policies. It is the responsibility of each student to know and abide by the code, so staying updated on the changes can impact your university experience. You can read about the changes online and see the updated Code on the Trustees website.
Leadership Education Needs Assessment
The Center for the Study of Student Life has released a new and improved version of the Leadership Education Needs Assessment. It’s fast, easy and free. All students are encouraged to complete LENA to learn more about their own leadership capacities, as well as resources to continue to develop leadership skills. Visit go.osu.edu/LENA to learn more and take the assessment.
Graduate and Professional School Fair
Buckeye Careers is hosting their annual Graduate and Professional School Fair on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, from 2 – 6 p.m. The fair will take place virtually, via Handshake, and provide students the opportunity to network, gather information and make lasting connections with school representatives from across the country and around the world.
