Advance Ohio Higher Education Act message

The following message was sent to graduate and professional students at Ohio State on Aug. 14, 2025.

As you may be aware, Ohio Governor DeWine signed the “Advance Ohio Higher Education Act (Senate Bill 1)” in March of this year. It went into effect on June 27.
As part of your orientation to Ohio State, we are required to make you aware of the protections afforded to you in this state law under section 3345.0217 of the Ohio Revised Code.
