Turn Your Exercise into a Snack

May 30, 2023

If you ever find it hard to schedule workouts into your busy schedule or find yourself sitting at your desk for an extended period, then you may want to consider turning your exercise into a ‘snack’.

Exercise snacking involves brief spurts of activity that are spread out throughout the day and are incorporated into your daily routine. These ‘snacks’ usually last for 1 to 2 minutes at a time and may include jumping jacks, chair squats, running in place, or even climbing a set of stairs. Now you may be thinking it sounds too good to be true, but recent studies show that it is scientifically proven that activity snacks offer comparable benefits as longer or traditional workouts when they are repeated often throughout the day.

Exercise snacking helps incorporate exercise into your schedule and not the other way around. So, the next time you struggle to meet your daily exercise goals, keep in mind that working out can be made simpler by ‘snacking’ on it.
