Today's Update: Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023

September 27, 2023

Dear Student Life team,

This year’s Buckeyes for Charity campaign is underway now through Nov. 3.

The campaign, you may be aware, raises money for non-profits across Ohio. With more than 850 organizations on the list, you can choose the group or groups you would like to support.

The name of the campaign is significant. The words are simple, but the meaning is clear. We are Buckeyes. And we are for helping others in need in our community. It's another way we can pay it forward to benefit those around us.

Whatever you are passionate about, Buckeyes for Charity is a way to support causes, organizations and efforts that are important to you. Causes include food security, health and wellness programming and services, housing, animal welfare, education, advocacy programs, social justice and the environment.

You can give via?credit card,?check, cash or payroll deduction and choose to make a one-time or recurring donation.??

All the information, including a list of organizations and how to give, is online: https://buckeyesforcharity.osu.edu/

In past years, I have used the campaign to donate to the YWCA and Zora’s House because I believe in the work they each do. I’m sure you will find an organization that speaks to you in the same meaningful way.

In Student Life, our coordinators are Teri Cugliari, Morgan Hammonds and D’Arcy Oaks. They’ve planned a couple of special events coming up to make it easy, and fun, to contribute. One is a special cooking class with Chef Wolf, winner of this year’s NACUFS national Culinary Challenge competition. There will also be chili cook-off scheduled. Watch for the dates and times in the next edition of Slice.

I encourage you to participate in this Scarlet and Great way to show how much we, as Buckeyes, care about our community.
