Today's Update: Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022

October 5, 2022

Dear Student Life team,

If you watched or attended one of our recent Scarlet and Great Gatherings, you saw a video of me and the Wexner Medical Center’s Jay Anderson promoting this year’s Buckeyes for Charity drive.

He and I are this year’s co-chairs, and in the video, we talked about how Ohio State’s iconic O-H! cheer is traditional call and response. You call out O-H, then hope and expect someone to respond with I-O!

Today, I am calling out Buckeyes for Charity, and hoping you will respond.

The campaign raises money for non-profits across Ohio. You can choose from more than 850 organizations that you would like to help. It is an opportunity to show your support for a cause or causes that ignite your passion.

This year I have designated my gift for Zora’s House, a creative co-working space, leadership incubator and inclusive community that centers Women of Color. and I’m sure you will find an organization that speaks to you in the same meaningful way. Groups all over Ohio are dealing with and finding solutions to issues such as food security, health and wellness programming and services, housing, animal welfare, education, advocacy programs and the environment.

Buckeyes for Charity makes it easy to give via credit card, check, cash or payroll deduction. You can make a one-time or recurring donation.

In Student Life, our ambassadors are Jasmine Stephenson.261, Xavier De Freitas.15 and D’Arcy Oaks.9. They have activities planned for you to get involved with Buckeyes for Charity and make a difference. I appreciate all they are doing, and I encourage you to participate.

Please reach out to our ambassadors if you have any questions. For more information or to make your pledge, visit buckeyesforcharity.osu.edu.

I hope you will answer the call.

O-H!
