Dear Student Life Team, Things have been going so fast and furious over the past few days. Sometimes it’s hard to remember to stop and breathe. So I’m going to ask you to do just that. Take a pause and breathe. 

Yes, I said breathe. I mean that literally. On this Wellness Wednesday, use breathing to calm your mind and reflect on the Scarlet and Great successes we’ve achieved.  

To help, you might try JustBreathe. It’s a campaign created by the One University faculty/staff wellness sub-council that offers graphics you can use to sync your breathing. (yp4h.osu.edu/justbreathe) There are also breathing strategies in the Whil program available through Your Plan 4 Health.  

There is science behind it. The experts say that to effectively combat stress, we need to activate the body’s natural relaxation response. You can do this by practicing relaxation techniques such as deep breathing. 

So, if you are feeling a bit overwhelmed, take a deep breath or two. Keeping your wellness in mind keeps us Scarlet and Great.
