Dear Student Life Team, We’re heading into the final days of the semester, and it’s obvious there are students who need a little help getting over the finish line.
For many, it has felt like a marathon; and now while they may be excited be at the end, the exhaustion is setting in.
The end of an academic year can be both joyous and stressful, often at the same time. This year, with a global pandemic, racial violence and injustice and all that is going on in the world, students may be feeling more stress than joy.
We want our students to know that their university is here to help them.
We are currently sharing information on social media about some of the many programs and services available to help students finish strong.
Some of the suggestions involve academic support, including a reminder for students to reach out to their professor, TA or academic advisor, and to take advantage of office hours and tutoring. We are also getting out information about the Dennis Learning Center.
Mental health support is also available, and we want students to know that Student Life Counseling and Consultation Service and the Student Wellness Center are here for them. There is also a great deal of support available through the Wellness App.
Sometimes students just need to take a break. We’re reminding them of D-Tix and the offerings featured on the Student Life calendar.

We are working to advance a culture of care at Ohio State, and making sure our students know the resources available to them is a step in the right direction.
The end of the academic year should be Scarlet and Great, not make students feel blue.
