Today's Update: Tuesday, October 6
October 6, 2020
Dear Student Life Team, COVID-19 has disrupted far more lives than just ours here at Ohio State, and nonprofit organizations are struggling to adapt and meet the needs of our community.
The annual Bucks for Charity campaign is underway. (bucksforcharity.osu.edu.) Each year, Ohio State faculty, staff and retirees can donate to one or more nonprofit organizations through the fundraising campaign. I’m giving to the YWCA through Bucks for Charity, and there are plenty of other choices. This year’s campaign has expanded to include nearly 1,000 statewide organizations, giving us an even greater opportunity to make an impact. On this Wellness Wednesday, it is a good reminder that community well-being is important.
Each year, this drive raises more than $1-million for causes such as food security, health and wellness programming and services, housing, animal welfare, education, advocacy programs and the environment This is another example of how we are better, stronger and can make a greater difference Together as Buckeyes.
We all choose to give back in different ways. For some, it is our talent. For others, we can offer treasure. Bucks for Charity makes it very easy to donate to a cause you are passionate about. You can give via check, cash or payroll deduction and choose to make a one-time or recurring donation.
I want to thank our Student Life coordinators for this effort: Brandon Smith, Laura Darling and D’Arcy Oaks. They would be happy to answer any questions you might have about this Scarlet and Great way to show how much we, as Buckeyes, care about our community.
