Today's Update: Monday, November 13, 2023
November 13, 2023
Dear Student Life team,
Today is World Kindness Day, and I hope you are getting in on the action by doing something kind for someone else. Don’t forget, you can send a special note of appreciation using the Kudos feature on our kindness website.
And, of course, this is also the time of year when our thoughts often turn toward gratitude.
Whether you think of it as gratitude, appreciation or thankfulness, taking time to reflect on the good things and people in our lives is important. Consider how your life is enriched by their presence and how you can pay forward that benefit.
One way for us to frame our gratitude is through the lens of kindness. That’s why I’m pleased that Student Life is helping again with a toy drive for students at United Schools Network Elementary schools in Columbus. Last year we collected 418 toys for the families to pick out and wrap for the children in their lives.
So how can you help?
You can purchase one (or more!) new, unwrapped toy for children between the ages of 3 and 12. Because the families will be wrapping the gifts after they select them, wrapping paper and supplies are also needed. A wish list can be found online.
Collection bins will be at the following locations:
-
Senior Vice President’s suite on the 3rd floor of the Ohio Union
-
600 Lincoln Tower
The drive will end at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, so the families have plenty of time to prepare for the holiday season.
Thank you for considering taking part in this Scarlet and Great way to show kindness to families throughout our community.
