Today's Update: Monday, January 11
January 11, 2021
Dear Student Life Team, Here they come! Move-In for students in our residence halls officially begins Sunday, January 17, and will run through the following Sunday, January 24.
As with other recent Move-Ins and Outs, we are staggering arrival times and hall openings to avoid congestion and promote physical distancing. Students have been asked to sign up for a specific day and time to come to campus. It means more shifts of people assisting the process, but it’s worth it for the health and safety of our community.
That’s where you come in. I need your help in rolling out the Scarlet carpet for our students and their families. You can sign up online: go.osu.edu/moveinhelp. The tasks are designed to allow you to stay physically distant from others.
You’ll provide general guidance to students and families about check-in, direct students to Jesse Owens North for testing and wipe down carts in between uses. Students and guests are required to wear masks and you won’t need to move a student’s items. Shifts are January 17-24, 7:45-11 a.m., 10:45 a.m.-2 p.m. and 1:45-5:15 p.m. each day.
The busiest day looks to be Monday, January 18. We can especially use help that day, but there are slots available throughout the week.
As is always the case when students are moving in or out, there will be extra traffic on campus. This will be true not only around the residence halls but also around Jesse Owens North where incoming students will get their COVID-19 test.
Thank you for your help getting this semester off to a Scarlet and Great start.
