Today's Update: Friday, May 6, 2022
May 6, 2022
Dear Student Life team,
For today’s High Five Friday, I want to start by thanking the entire Student Life team for ALL the ways you have faithfully, energetically and lovingly cared for and supported Ohio State students throughout this academic year, and always. I know it has been another really challenging year, and I hope you can also pinpoint many moments of pride, inspiration and accomplishment in the work that you do so well.
I also want to congratulate all the graduates, along with their families and loved ones, who will achieve their own great moment of pride this weekend at Commencement and throughout the many other celebrations that will take place. Special High Five to all the Student Life employees who will be earning a variety of degrees, and putting all that knowledge to use through their work with students and beyond.
Also, as we approach Mother’s Day weekend, I know we all have our own unique support structures in our lives, so High Fives to all those - near and far - whose support, attention, challenge and love have touched our lives and made us better humans.
Lastly, I want to acknowledge that this week has been a terribly tragic and difficult one for so many throughout the university. I am overwhelmingly grateful for everyone who has supported those impacted by the devastating loss of two Ohio State students this week. At times like this it seems even more important, and actually necessary, to take time to appreciate and honor those we hold dear. Today does not feel Scarlet and Great, but please know how much I care about each and every one of you. Please reach out if I can help support you in any way.
