Today's Update: Friday, March 4

March 4, 2022

Dear Student Life team,

Happy High Five Friday.

I’m so proud of our team for embodying our focus to Engage. Learn. Thrive. These concepts are behind all the work we do every day and helps make us the best student affairs team in the country.

I want to start with a High Five to Dr. T.J. Logan. You may have seen in Slice this morning that he has been named to the ACUHO-I (Association of College and University Housing Officers) Wall of Fame.

High Five to everyone who attended this week’s Scarlet and Great Gathering. An extra High Five to Dr. Tanisha Jenkins for leading it, and to Dr. Chrisse Edmunds, Ivica Pavisic and Chrystal Zimmerman for their work on the presentations.

If you missed Monday’s Gathering, you can watch a replay online.

High Five to the Buckeye Careers team for being featured in this great article of the official Ohio State News site highlighting the work they do to support students’ career success.

High Five to Brooke Olson of Student Activities for her efforts with Buckeye Love and Kindness Day. She was part of the team that distributed 40,000 kindness cards across campus, and she coordinated cookie deliveries to all student org meetings in the Ohio Union on that day. High Five, Brooke, for bringing joy (and a little sugar rush) to our student org community.

Everyone who partnered with the Student Wellness Center to plan and implement a successful Love Your Body Week this week gets a High Five. Special High Five thanks to Jordan Helcbergier from the Student Wellness Center for leading the effort.

The recent National Match Day for Psychology doctoral internships saw Counseling and Consultation Service successfully matched with interns for all five slots for the 2022-2023 academic year.  High Five to CCS’s Mark Sampson for leading this endeavor and to those who helped: Amy Young, Courtney Arbogast, Leisha Chiles, Darreon Greer, Stephanie Grissett, Meera Menon, Marcy Lusk, Hunter Sully and current psychology interns who participated in interviews and info sessions--Brianna Ector, Allison Elber, Jaclyn Gray, Re’Sean Johnson and Tiphani Moss.

The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities hosted a Reverse Parade this week. The Student Life team had a strong presence at this community event. High Fives to Justin Courtney, Bryan Albright, Rachel Richardson, Amy Livchak, Chad Welker as well as Carmen Cupples and an Ohio State Lima student Crystal Altstaetter for helping out. The story made the front page of the Lima News.

Have a Scarlet and Great weekend!
