July 28, 2023

Dear Student Life team,

Happy High Five Friday.

I’ll start with a High Five to Diana Berry, Talent Acquisition Senior Analyst, nominated by one of our departments “for all of her patience and help getting student worker jobs posted! Diana has been super helpful, patient and VERY quick to answer all of my questions!"

High Five to Mollie Workman of Buckeye Careers for being always willing to assist and help our university colleagues set up accounts and post positions on Handshake. One of the individuals she recently helped said, “I just spoke with Mollie – she is a treasure and so incredibly helpful and patient.”

Ben Raines with the Student Wellness Center and Zarek Bell of the Center for the Study of Student Life get a High Fives for presenting “Relieving the Burden of Student Debt: Assessment and Implementation” at the Higher Education Financial Wellness Summit in Eugene, Oregon this month. The summit brings together higher education professionals from around the country to address financial barriers for students.

Jeff Pelletier and the Ohio Union team get High Fives, nominated by the Center for Belonging and Social Change staff, for helping with their “various office needs and our many questions. The Union folks do so much every day and we appreciate the time and care shown to us.”

High Five to Rec Sports’ Nick Pangio and the Camp Recky staff as they provide hundreds of kiddos a safe and joyful camp experience. Nick and the team help our littlest family members feel at home on campus and extra special with awards like, “Future Buckeye.”

Ohio State Lima’s Student Life team (the Quad Squad of Justin F. Courtney, Amy Livchak, Rachel Richardson and Chad Welker) get High Fives for planning and executing the Summer Orientations for the campus. The sessions have been well attended and have received positive survey feedback. And a bonus High Five to Amy, who just celebrated 26 years of service to Ohio State Lima.

High Five to the Student Life Technology Services team for rolling out a new lock screen for all our computers. And High Five to Student Life Marketing for designing it. There is a sneak preview of the design in this morning’s Slice.

What a wonderful summer welcoming new Buckeyes to The Ohio State family. High Five to all our Student Life team members who participated, coordinated or supported summer orientation.

Have a Scarlet and Great weekend.
