Today's Update: Friday, July 23
July 23, 2021
Dear Student Life Team, Happy High Five Friday!
I never get tired of hearing about, and celebrating, the amazing work that our Student Life team performs. I am grateful for all you do, and our students are as well.
High Fives to Housing’s Gabi Bockelman and Thyrone Henderson for their efforts with Quarantine and Isolation housing this summer. Both have gone above and beyond to keep things running smoothly for everyone involved.
Drs. Erica Regan, Anne McDaniel and former GA Alice Croft of the Center for the Study of Student Life get High Fives. Their article, “Food Insecurity and Academic Disruption Among College Students,” was the most cited article of 2020 in the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice.
High Fives to everyone involved in planning the first-ever Career and Internship Week coming up in September. A great deal of work is well underway to create a memorable and useful week of workshops, networking opportunities and other sessions surrounding career development.
The Graduation Survey is now live for the summer, asking those who recently received their degrees to provide feedback to help us enhance the student experience for future Buckeyes. High Fives to Dr. Leah Halper for running the survey, with help from Nancy Thompson, Mollie Marie-Workman and Dr. Chris Rideout for helping to connect career services units with the survey and the results, Seth Rhodes for marketing support, as well as Man Yao, Liz Lubinger and Josh Oconer from CSSL. And a High Five goes to Josh Slaven in Student Life Technology Services for programming auto-populate questions on the survey, making it easier for students to answer some of the survey questions.
Have a Scarlet and Great weekend.
