Today's Update: Friday, January 8
January 8, 2021
Dear Student Life Team, We’re celebrating a new year, and celebrating our Student Life team with High Fives!
First, High Five to all of you following my suggestion to use Winter Break to rest, rejuvenate, reflect on all your successes and set your mind to the new semester and year.
Student Health Services gets a High Five from me and the Office of Human Resources. OHR’s Senior Director of HR Business Partners wrote to say, “We reached out to Student Health Services to see if they could help complete the screens that are required to reassign university employees to work at the medical center, and they have graciously provided the help and appointments needed.”
High Five to Johna Walls and Travis Barnhart for designing my end-of-year card. I love how they were able to make it snow, and dot the “i” with a red snowflake. High Fives as well to Seth Rhodes, Dave Isaacs and Dan Hausman for getting the card sent and making sure the graphics were in motion.
Residence Life First Year Residential Experience Specialist Shannon Mullally gets a High Five for being recognized by the Provost’s Office for her involvement and support of SpringForward. The program provides academic success support for first-year students whose first semester didn’t go exactly as they planned and may need some help bouncing back.
Finally, High Five to Anne McDaniel, who holds the distinction for logging into Qualtrics more times than anyone else at Ohio State, 944 times last year. It may sound like an odd “honor,” but, as she works on the testing exemption form, Move-In and Out scheduling, housing planning surveys and more, it shows just how busy and engaged our whole team is.
Please keep sending me nominations for High Five Friday recognition. I want to be able to share your successes with the entire team.
Have a Scarlet and Great weekend, the last before virtual classes begin!
