Dear Student Life team,

Happy High Five Friday.

High Fives to everyone as we get the new semester off to a strong start. This is a Scarlet and Great team, and I am grateful every day for your talent and dedication in service to our students and each other. 

We had a sudden and complex situation last weekend that required careful attention. High Fives to those involved including Jennifer Nelson, David Ternier, Noah Zona, Gabe Edwards, Deanna Wright Gordon, Barb Kefalas, Christian Thompson, Shana Parker, Preston Tartt, Zach Redecker and Krystal Reeb.

High Five to everyone who is busy getting ready for service events in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. I am grateful for the ability of our students and community to be in service.

High Five to Carly Taylor, who, after completing two semesters of training and shadowing, is now certified to serve as a full-time Typewell transcriber in classes with Student Life Disability Services.

The Buck-I-SERV team, especially Lucy Hennon and Anna Wagner, get High Fives for working tirelessly to get our students home from various locations across the country and Guatemala amidst a winter storm that threw many travel plans for a loop.  The time and care they put into making sure our students were safe was remarkable.

It’s a new year, ready for new accomplishments. Keep sending me your nominations for High Five Friday so we can continue to celebrate all our successes.
