Today's Update: Friday, February 12

February 12, 2021

Dear Student Life Team, Valentine’s Day signifies love, and I love to give High Fives to our Scarlet and Great team doing extraordinary things.

A big High Five to Kellie Uhrig, Travis Barnhart and Skylar Fought for their speedy, calm and spectacular work in re-envisioning an important presentation I have coming up.

High Fives to Leah Halper, Scott Bradford and Yao Man of the Center for the Study of Student Life. Every Sunday they put together a really helpful report that assists us in looking at weekend activity trends.

Laura Darling, Brooke Ranalli and Caitlin McConaghy get High Fives for adding to their already busy COVID-19 testing schedules. They have branched out from the Jesse Owens North testing site to conduct asymptomatic testing of those in quarantine at Lawrence Tower.

Sean McClure of Residence Life gets a High Five as the latest department team member to be featured in their Inclusive Excellence (IE) Spotlight. He works with Res Life staff and students on programs that deal with global awareness, diversity, inclusion and sharing of cultures. And a High Five to Moe Samad for creating the IE Spotlights.

High Fives to those involved with the recent ACUHO-I State of the Profession Symposium, including Stacey Renker and Jonathan Adams for serving on panels. I had the opportunity to sit on one, too, and it was amazing to connect with our housing colleagues from across the nation!

High Fives to Shina Hayden, Cody Burke and Allison Thomas for their superb work in coordinating multiple candidate interviews.

Don’t forget to fill out the survey on Student Life post-COVID. I really want to hear what you think about where we should go, and what we should avoid, in a post-pandemic campus. Your responses are anonymous and will help us plan for the future. Here is the link:

Have a Scarlet and Great weekend.
