Today's Update: Friday, April 9

April 9, 2021

Dear Student Life Team, Two weeks remaining in the spring semester and Commencement is just one month away, so High Five to you for staying strong.

A special thank you and High Five goes to Dr. Qiana Smith for accepting the role of director of Residence Life, and to Andrew Crow who has agreed to assume the role of senior director of Student Life Facility Operations. Both have been serving as interim directors for quite some time, and they have been instrumental in Student Life’s response to the pandemic. They have done an extraordinary job as leaders in difficult times, and I am very pleased that they have accepted these important roles, effective April 26.

High Fives to everyone receiving recognition at the Student Leadership Awards ceremony this afternoon. Their accomplishments, perseverance and resilience were especially significant in this year of COVID. You can read more and see all the award winners online at go.osu.edu/leadershipawards.

High Fives also go to the Student Life team members being honored in the Leadership Awards event. Charity Martin-King (Social Change), Madison Eagle (MCC) and Winston Branch (Res Life) have each won Outstanding Student Life Student Employee Supervisor (sponsored by Student Life’s Student Employment Experience (SEE) program. Madison also won Outstanding Student Organization Supervisor with Take Back the Night.
