Dr. Tanisha L. Jenkins to join Office of Student Life Team

The Office of Student Life is pleased to announce that Dr. Tanisha L. Jenkins will be joining the Student Life Team as our Associate Vice President of Belonging and Inclusion. Dr. Jenkins will be joining us on Monday, March 1.

Dr. Tanisha L. Jenkins, currently the Director of the University of Tennessee’s Office of Multicultural Student Life and Frieson Black Cultural Center, has a strong track record of administrative success in advancing organizations’ inclusion and equity cultures and initiatives. She is a proven and known collaboration builder, and has extensive experience engaging internal and external stakeholders on the needs of diverse student populations, including building programs, customizing services and emphasizing multi-constituent communications. With a dedication to data-driven approaches, Dr. Jenkins is an accomplished advocate and leader on issues related to student success, community outreach and mattering and belonging. A hallmark of her career being creating cultures of care and individual support, Dr. Jenkins excels in promoting and achieving inclusive, welcoming and supportive environments that consistently meet the needs of both students and staff members.

As the Associate Vice President for Belonging and Inclusion, Dr. Jenkins will support Disability Services, the Multicultural Center, Social Change, training and development for staff and programs that advance Student Life’s inclusion efforts.
