January 24, 2022

Dear Buckeyes,

Happy New Year! I hope your 2022 is off to a Scarlet and Great start.

Each year I select a word that I can use as a focus for my day-to-day life. If you follow me on social media, you'll know my word for 2021 was peace, and I was on a daily journey to find it in everything I did. For 2022, my word is (re)connection. Over the past two years, throughout managing the COVID-19 pandemic and supporting our university response, I had to focus more on the issues at hand, and I'm sure many of you can relate to that feeling. Going into 2022 I'm committing to reconnecting with the important people and things in my life, especially the ones that spark joy.

As you begin your semester, I encourage you to select a word for the year to help guide everything you do. I'd love to hear what your word is and any other goals you have for yourself in 2022.
