COVID-19 Testing Update: Students Living In University Housing or University Managed-Facilities Required to Test Twice Weekly
March 4, 2021
The following message was shared with students who live on The Ohio State University Columbus campus on March 4, 2021.
Starting next week (Monday, March 8), students who live in university housing or university-managed facilities will be required to schedule and complete two COVID-19 tests each week until further notice.
This increased testing for residential students is because the infection rate among on-campus students has doubled in just one week. Increased testing allows the university to identify cases more quickly and slow the spread of COVID-19. We recognize this is asking more of you, but we must act now to ensure the successful completion of the semester and no interruptions to student organizations’ ability to come together in small groups.
At your earliest convenience, please schedule your tests via MyChart. For instructions on how to schedule your testing appointments, please visit go.osu.edu/MyChartInstructions. It is recommended that you leave at least one day, and two preferably, between your testing appointments.
Thank you very much for taking this important step to promote the health and safety of our entire campus community. We appreciate your time, commitment and effort.
