Student Life Staff Mentoring Program
Cultivating connections and generating growth within our professional community in Student Life through staff fellowship and mentorship.
Registration for the 2022-2023 mentoring cohort is now closed. Stay tuned for updates.
The Student Life Staff Mentoring Program is designed to provide professional development opportunities for staff within Student Life via a formal and structured support system that is designed to facilitate skill and competency development. The program will contribute to staff members’ overall career and personal growth. The program will foster and build an inclusive culture of diverse professional networks and promote a culture of learning throughout Student Life. The Staff Mentoring program will take a triad or cluster approach, pairing two staff members with a more experienced Student Life professional.

Mentorship Program FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Who is eligible to register?
Any staff member in Student Life is eligible to participate in the Staff Mentoring Program. Any eligible employee can be a mentee. To be a mentor, staff must have at least 6 years of work, including work and/or education. Student employees are not eligible for the Student Life Staff Mentoring Program.
What is the time commitment?
Mentor and mentees are expected to have 1 on 1 meetings once a month. Mentorship clusters are required to meet once a quarter, or 4 times throughout the year. We provide discussion topics in the mentor and mentee guidebooks to help participants have productive meetings.
What is the format?
There will be a kickoff and end of year event, which will be held in-person. Each mentorship cluster and pairing gets to decide the format (in-person or virtual) of their monthly and quarterly meetings.
How are participants selected and matched?
We will work to accommodate all eligible staff who complete a registration by the deadline of April 22, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. We will carefully review the survey responses to complete the best matches based on each individual's needs.
Note: We may not be able to able to accommodate all of those requesting to be mentees at this time, and will make it a priority to include them in next year's cohort.
