D’Andra, in her role as Assistant Vice President, serves on the executive leadership team for the Office of Student Life. Her focus and areas of expertise include student support and development, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and graduate programming. D’Andra also serves on the graduate faculty as an adjunct assistant professor in the School of Educational Policy and Leadership's Higher Education and Student Affairs Program. She holds a B.A. in political science and criminal justice studies from Kent State University, an M.A. in higher, adult and lifelong education from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. in higher education from Ohio State. D’Andra has held student life positions for 12 years, at Kent State, Michigan State, and since 2004, at Ohio State.

Lois and her staff coordinate academic adjustments and accommodations for students with various documented disabilities, including learning disabilities, deaf/hard of hearing, blind/low vision, mobility limitations, attention deficit disorders (ADD/ADHD), psychiatric conditions, and medical disabilities. Lois has a B.S. in education from Elizabeth City State University and a master's degree in special education from Ohio State. She has worked with Disability Services at Ohio State since 1985.

Davida provides intellectual, multidisciplinary, and administrative leadership for the Multicultural Center.  This includes assessing student needs and developing policies, objectives, programs, and services to meet them; administering daily operations; and creating program and service partnerships with students, faculty, administrators, and community groups.  Davida earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Johnson C. Smith University, and an M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs and a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Higher Education from Ohio State.  She joined the Student Life staff in 2011 after having served as director of multicultural affairs at Capital University.  She had also served in several teaching, staff, and graduate assistant capacities at Ohio State since 2003.

 

 

Sean McLaughlin, Ph.D.

Sean oversees programs, services and collaborative efforts to enhance the success and collegiate experience of commuter students at The Ohio State University. He earned a B.S.Ed. in Secondary Education, General Science from Duquesne University, an M.A. in Higher Education Student Affairs from The Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. Sean began working for Student Life in 2002 as the assistant director of Off-Campus Student Services. Prior to coming to Ohio State he served as evening administrator of the Duquesne Union at Duquesne University and as a middle school science teacher in Prince George's County Public Schools in Maryland.

Chris Rideout, Ph.D.

Chris oversees and administers Career Connection, which promotes academic, personal, and occupational success by assisting students in career decision-making and career development. She also provides counseling and clinical supervision and training at the Counseling and Consultation Service. She holds a B.A. in psychology and a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Michigan State University. She has been in Student Life at Ohio State since 1985. Prior to that, she worked at Ohio Wesleyan University in the Counseling, Advising and Placement Center and taught in the Psychology Department.
