Volunteers will work alongside horticulture staff outside in our botanical gardens. The main priority will be spring cleanup. That means lots of raking and removing leaves, cutting back grasses or perennials, and maybe some weeding and invasive honeysuckle removal. Completion of these tasks will really help get the gardens looking their best for spring! Work gloves, tools, a snack, and water will be provided by FPC. Please check the weather before coming and dress appropriately. Layering is best. Solid, waterproof footwear is ideal. We work rain or shine. Also, all valuables are asked to be left in the van during the trip so don't bring anything you wouldn't be comfortable leaving in the van. After the volunteering project is over, all volunteers are welcome to come inside to tour through the conservatory. Right now, the Blooms & Butterflies and Orchid Show is on display.
