Off the Lake Productions, the only student-run musical theatre group on Ohio State’s campus, is proud to present its 18th musical PIPPIN this spring! PIPPIN tells the story of a young man struggling to find complete fulfillment in life. The charismatic Leading Player and her mysterious performance troupe seduce Pippin into extraordinary pursuits, testing his expectations of what his life is meant to be. In the end, Pippin must decide to continue believing in his disillusioned anticipation for true contentment or develop a more realistic perspective.
With a book by Roger O. Hirson and music by Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz, PIPPIN explores the ideas of happiness and fulfillment and questions the pressures that society places on young people today.
Off the Lake presents PIPPIN March 28th (8 pm), March 29th (2 pm and 8 pm), April 4th (8 pm), and April 5th (8 pm)in Hitchcock Hall 131. Instead of an admission charge, audiences are asked to bring a canned good or nonperishable food item to be donated to the Mid Ohio Food Bank, Off the Lake Production’s main philanthropy. PIPPIN contains mature themes and may not be suitable for young audiences.
