Time: Wednesday, September 04, 2013 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Location: Ohio Union - Potter Plaza
The InterFraternity Council (IFC), the Student Life Offices of Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Student Wellness Center, and Designer Shoe Wear (DSW) invite all members of the Ohio State and Columbus communities to join the effort to end sexual violence. This free event seeks to bring together people of all genders and sexual orientation in a movement that can change and save lives.
Please join us on September 4, at 4:30-8:00 p.m. in the Ohio Union Performance Hall for this important rally. The event will include Vice President for Student Life Dr. Javaune Adams-Gaston and others speaking on what we can do to engage in the work of ending sexual violence. The evening features a mile walk for solidarity, and concludes with refreshments on the Ohio Union's Potter Plaza.
Sexual violence can impact anyone, either by personal experience or through loved ones who have been hurt by these terrible acts. Let's commit today, and every day, to supporting survivors and preventing future acts of violence. Please come Walk a Mile with us.
Please note that a $1,500 honorarium is being given to the Buckeye Region Anti-Violence Organization and that additional donations are welcome though not required.
The event timeline is 4:30-5: Check-In | 5-5:30: Speeches | 5:30-6: Walk | 6-8: Community building and refreshments on Potter Plaza at the Ohio Union.
All are welcome. Wearing high heels is not required as we know that this is a journey each of us must travel differently. If you need any special accommodations, please contact: Tony Cannon at firstname.lastname@example.org
